Profiting off of other people’s suffering is an outrage. But that’s exactly what Senators Richard Burr and Kelly Loeffler appear to have done―illegally selling off millions of dollars in stock after getting a briefing by the Trump administration on the global threat of the coronavirus.

That insider trading is a betrayal of our public trust. And Senator Loeffler even purchased stock in a work-from-home technology company that is one of the few stocks that has actually gone up in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Any member of Congress―regardless of party―who puts their own self interests ahead of the public's health and financial security should resign.

We must hold Senators Burr and Loeffler accountable to the American people for betraying our trust and illegally profiting off the COVID-19 crisis. Sign now to demand their immediate resignations.

Our district's people, community groups, and small businesses are strong and resilient. Even though so many residents were in crisis before the pandemic, every day I see neighbors coming through with compassion and determination to fight through this together.

So, when we see U.S. Senators using insider information to personally and illegally profit off of a global crisis, we must demand action.
