The Only Solution is Peace

We are greatly disappointed that the Senate voted down a resolution by Senator Bernie Sanders that would have created a pathway for Congress to place conditions on U.S. military aid to Israel according to human rights violations. The resolution would have required the State Department to investigate whether Israel has committed human rights violations in Gaza and submit the report to Congress.

Last week, we joined nearly 75 other organizations ([link removed]) in signing a letter backing Senator Bernie Sanders's resolution. We are hopeful that this vote will have at least sparked conversation about the mounting death toll in Gaza, but more action is required to safeguard civilian life. We urge our elected officials to take all action toward an immediate ceasefire.

We invite you to join us in sending a thank-you message to the eleven Senators who voted in favor of this resolution: Laphonza Butler (D-CA), Martin Heinrich (D-NM), Mazie Hirono (D-HI), Ben Ray Luján (D-NM), Ed Markey (D-MA), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Peter Welch (D-VT) Vermont, and Rand Paul (R-KY).

Asylum is Under Attack - Again

The White House is currently trying to destroy asylum in exchange for sending billions to Ukraine, Israel, and ICE & CBP. This proposal is extreme, and would risk the lives of migrants and their families fleeing danger. This would be especially disastrous for Haitian asylum seekers. Tell your members of Congress that our government should fund solutions that uphold the humanity and dignity of migrants and protect asylum.
