Team:
I guess when you do a 180-degree turn as a politician, you go hard: One of our opponents, former Congressman Mike Rogers, just called for a government shutdown.
He’s a former FBI officer, who used to speak proudly about his federal service and his home agency. No more.
But here’s the kicker: Mike Rogers knows a shutdown is dangerous, which is why he spent a decade opposing them, calling government shutdowns “a problem” and “unconscionable,” and saying they “put America’s national security at risk” and make “our nation less safe.” He’s on record for years and years opposing the type of shutdown he is now championing, as a candidate in an ever-growing GOP primary field.
But it’s not the first time Rogers has gone back on a strongly held position he’s voiced for decades. In fact, it’s not even the first time this month. After years of hammering Trump, and even nearly running for President against Trump, GOP Senate candidate Mike Rogers shocked everyone who knew him by coming out and endorsing Trump for President.
