Dear John,
I am pleased to invite you to: “What Is a Good Job Now?” For the Formerly Incarcerated, a panel discussion hosted by Zocalo Public Square on Wednesday, January 24th at 7pm. This event will be held in-person at the ASU California Center (111 S Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90015) and simultaneously livestreamed. You can sign up to register for either the in-person or virtual event here.
This event is presented in partnership with The James Irvine Foundation as part of the “What Is a Good Job Now?” series, which focuses on workers in the low-wage sectors of California’s economy, in communities across the state.
This panel discussion will be moderated by Gilbert Johnson, Director of Strategic Reentry Initiatives, Office of Mayor Karen Bass. I will be in conversation alongside Amity Foundation president and CEO Doug Bond and Root & Rebound executive director Carmen Garcia to discuss how to build better career pathways for formerly incarcerated people. There will be a post-event reception with complimentary small bites by 2nd Chance Soul Food Fish Fry.
We believe that fostering dialogue on this topic is essential for creating a more inclusive and equitable society. I hope to see you there and for those who are unable to join in-person, I hope you will consider joining the livestream.
Thank you for your belief in our work and in second chances. I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.
Sincerely,
Sam Lewis
