Welcome to Catch Up With Young Kim, my weekly e-newsletter to get you the latest on my work for you in Congress.

Since I came to Congress, I've been fighting to bring common sense to Washington, break through the partisan gridlock, and get things done. I’m proud that my record shows my commitment to deliver results to California’s 40th district, while also sticking to my principles.

As we embark on this new year, I would love to hear from you and know what matters most to you in 2024. Share your thoughts and take my 2024 priorities survey below!

The brave men and women of our local law enforcement run into harm’s way every day to protect our communities.

I'm proud to support the COPS on the Beat grant program so they have the team, tools, and training needed to do their jobs.

ImageIn just three years, the SEC has proposed 50+ rules.

I'm leading the REG Act to conduct oversight on the Biden administration’s burdensome regulations and ensure the SEC’s rules are working as intended and not hurting those chasing their American dream.

I was honored to present flags flown over our U.S. Capitol to 11 CA-40 young leaders who recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Congratulations on this outstanding achievement, and I can't wait to see what you all accomplish! The future is bright.

At this week's Financial Services Subcommittee on National Security Hearing, I asked the witnesses: would you rather the United States and our allies lead on nuclear projects, or Russia and China unilaterally provide lending for nuclear projects?

The U.S. should lead in developing international nuclear standards to lower energy costs at home and strengthen our national security. Watch below!

Cleveland National Forest trails are still closed due to the 2018 Holy Jim Fire. Our federal land management partners need to be able to streamline tools to safely restore trails in a timely manner.

I'm leading the ROUTES Act with Rep. Doug LaMalfa to do exactly that.

Human rights should be a top priority of meetings with the CCP, not a bargaining chip to get a meeting on the calendar.

I pressed Biden admin officials on why they removed export controls on CCP entities committing human rights violations against Uyghurs.

On Monday, we honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

May we embody his teachings as we continue his work toward a more perfect union by judging others on the content of their character, not the color of their skin, and spreading light and love in our communities.

I am pleased to share a great opportunity for educators in CA-40 and our state: K-12 teachers and higher education faculty across the country can apply to attend professional development programs funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Selected educators will be able to develop new teaching methods while diving deeply into a humanities topic through one- to four-week residential, virtual, and combined format programs.

This summer, NEH is offering 44 programs on a variety of humanities topics ranging from Shakespeare to the Space Age. Applicants will receive an invaluable experience for educators to deepen their understanding of the humanities and learn new ways to incorporate that knowledge into their teaching. The application deadline for all 44 programs is March 5.
