Update: Positive Developments in Ohio!
After a national outcry [[link removed]] , Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has stated that trans candidates shouldn’t be disqualified from being on the ballot for failing to report their deadnames, stating the law “certainly should be fixed.” DeWine, who recently passed a restrictive anti-trans executive order, went on to say we “should be able to fix it, but I haven’t really thought that much about how to do it.” [[link removed]] One would assume that thinking about things like this is part of a Governor's job description.
In further good news, three of the four trans candidates who faced reviews of their campaigns have been cleared to run! Arienne Childrey [[link removed]] , Bobbie Arnold [[link removed]] and Ari Faber [[link removed]] are still on the ballot.
