Dear Fourth District Constituent,
|
The view from my D.C. office window
Friday morning. Can you find the Capitol? |
Thank you to everyone who attended my Virtual Update from Washington on Wednesday. I appreciated the opportunity to discuss the status of federal government funding and answer some of your submitted questions. You can find a full transcript of the Virtual Update here.
On Thursday, the House and Senate passed and today President Biden signed into law another Continuing Resolution to temporarily avoid a partial government shutdown, ensuring the government will stay open through March.
I voted for the Continuing Resolution to avoid harm to our communities and our economy. Now that we have avoided another short-term disaster, Republicans must stop their internal chaos and Speaker Johnson must follow through on his commitment to the deal Republicans agreed to seven months ago--so we can get to work and provide full-year funding to invest in the priorities of the American people.
Opening: Green and Gold Congressional Aide
My office has an opening for a two-year paid position in my District Office in Saint Paul through the Green and Gold Congressional Aide Program! This program was established to create employment opportunities for Veterans and Gold Star Family Members within the U.S. House of Representatives. More information about the eligibility requirements and how to apply is available here. Please help spread the word!
Don't hesitate to reach out and voice your policy opinion or ask for help with a federal agency. You can find all of my recent statements and stay in touch at mccollum.house.gov.
As always, thank you for being an informed and engaged constituent.
Sincerely,
Betty McCollum
Member of Congress
