Friend—We wanted to make sure you saw this message from Alyse last night.
Don Young is being reckless with Alaskan’s health instead of doing his job in Washington to fight the coronavirus. Chip in what you can so Alyse has what it takes to defeat him in November. [[link removed]]

Subject: Don Young isn’t stepping up
Friend,
Tonight, I’m staying in like so many of you. Of course, I’d rather be out meeting Alaskans but this is what we all need to do during this pandemic to keep our community and our seniors safe.
The job of a member of Congress, though, is different. During a national emergency, it’s the job of Congress to pass legislation to take on the threat. And thankfully last week, that’s what most members of the House of Representatives did when they passed a coronavirus relief and stimulus bill.
But do you know who wasn’t there? Congressman Don Young. While the House debated the bill, Alaska’s only representative left Washington to fly to Alaska for a fundraiser.
After spending 10 hours on airplanes, the next day, he headed to a senior center. There, he ridiculed the crisis, calling it overblown and telling these seniors they should not hide and instead go out and continue with their everyday activities. He even went through the room shaking hands, despite coming from an area with confirmed cases of the virus.
His remarks and actions were reckless and dangerous. We deserve better leadership at a time like this.
On my campaign, we have canceled all in-person events and we’ve moved to holding virtual town halls to connect people to experts and get their questions answered during this difficult time.
Meanwhile, our neighbors, elected leaders, and communities are stepping up to address this crisis. Our medical community is working day and night to keep us safe.
Thousands of Alaskans have lost their jobs, and small businesses are closing their doors. While they struggle to pay their bills and put food on the table, they deserve an advocate in Washington working day and night to protect them and help our economy recover.
That’s why I’m running for Congress. To work tirelessly on behalf of working families. Because that’s what they deserve.
This November, we have a chance to send Don Young into retirement. If you are ready for change, I hope you’ll contribute what you can today. Every dollar makes a difference. [[link removed]]
I hope everyone will stay safe and look out for one another. We will get through this. And, if you need comfort or information, or just want to see a friendly face during this time, please follow us on social media and join us for one of our virtual town halls. We’d be glad to have you.
Gratefully,
Alyse
