Friend,

The internet is an essential utility. Everyone should have the right and the resources to access education, emergency services, work and trustworthy news, and that’s where the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) comes in.

With more than 22 million households connected so far, the program has been a resounding and life-changing success for tribal, rural, urban and suburban communities across the country.

We’re pleased to support a new bill that comes with bipartisan support in both chambers of Congress: It would invest $7 billion to keep the ACP going strong through 2024 until permanent funding can be secured. Without this additional funding, the ACP will expire as soon as April.

We’re urging Congress to pass this bipartisan funding for the ACP to prevent anyone from losing access to an essential utility. Are you with us?

Tell Congress: We Need Additional Funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program

[link removed]

Friend,

Since launching in 2022, the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) has subsidized the cost of internet access for more than 22 million low-income households. Unfortunately, this life-changing program is on track to run out of money in just four months.

Since I last emailed you about the ACP, the program has connected more than 1 million additional households. With each passing month, the program grows more successful even as it comes closer to running out of money: a true double-edged sword that could lead to a devastating disconnection for those millions of households if we don’t act soon.

Thankfully, a bipartisan group of legislators in both the House and Senate introduced a bill last week to appropriate another $7 billion to keep the ACP afloat until the end of 2024. Even though this isn’t enough to permanently fund the program — and you can bet we’ll keep pushing for more — we’re glad to support a serious effort to close the digital divide in this country.

Please join us in urging Congress to pass this new ACP funding bill right away.
