President Biden’s judicial nominees and confirmations are not only important to address Trump’s damaging judicial appointees, but they also stand out in their diversity and represent the largest appointment of judges with public defender experience ever. These factors are crucial to ensure our federal benches are reflective of the people they serve.

However, Biden and the Democratic-led Senate have recently fallen behind the speed at which Trump and Republicans were confirming new judges.

Each judicial appointment is a step towards a court system that embodies our values of equality, justice, and inclusivity. This must be a priority for Biden and Senate Democrats. Let’s keep approving judges for more representative, fairer courts!
