Tentative Schedule for 2024 Congress of Counties Released

Friends, 

We are just over a month away from our 2024 Congress of Counties on February 23-24 at Crowne Plaza Union Station in Downtown Indianapolis. We are excited to let you know that the tentative schedule for the weekend has been posted on our Congress of Counties website. This is an amazing opportunity to come together as grassroots leaders and share in fellowship and fun as we discuss the best ways to support our county organizations and our campaigns. 

Whether you have come to every Congress of Counties, or have never been before, we have something for everyone. Our goal is to provide educational opportunities so that grassroots leaders can take what they learn back to their communities to strengthen their local county GOPs, to help win elections, and continue to build a better Indiana. And most importantly, we plan to have a lot of fun!

Governor Eric Holcomb, announced “One Stop to Start” a workforce development campaign designed to raise awareness and help connect Hoosiers with existing workforce and job-related training programs and resources. The One Stop to Start website is live now!

What he’s saying: “The overall goal of ‘One Stop to Start’ is to make sure that Hoosiers have awareness of and access to the programs that can get them on that path to realizing a high-wage career, ...Perhaps it’s a short-term certificate or a two- or four-year degree. There’s a pathway for all Hoosiers, and ‘One Stop to Start’ will help individuals discover various options that fit their needs”, Gov. Holcomb said in a press release. 

What else happened this week? Gov. Holcomb joined the Indiana Civil Rights Commission in celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. At the Statehouse.

CapEx refers to capital expenditures made by companies to take on new projects or expansions. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has reported 7 straight years of record setting CapEx, and in 2023 those numbers reached new heights! 

The IEDC is charged with growing the state economy, driving economic development, and helping businesses launch, grow, and locate in the state. A high CapEx means a couple of things:

1) Businesses recognize Indiana as the #1 state to start a business and they have invested in Hoosiers.

2) Republican leaders have created a great environment for growth and expansion, so current Indiana entrepreneurs have been able to invest in new projects.

What does this mean for Hoosiers? It means more jobs coming to the state, higher paying jobs coming to the state, and economic stability.

What else does this mean for Hoosiers, beyond high paying jobs and a stable economy? It means advancements for infrastructure, stronger small businesses, and opportunities for Hoosier entrepreneurs.

A strong economy is good for all Hoosiers. A rising tide lifts all boats!

Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch met with Indiana’s Spanish speaking catholic Parishes to hear their stories. 

Secretary Diego Morales traveled Indiana delivering election improvement grant money to county clerks.

Attorney General Todd Rokita honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Treasurer Daniel Elliot visited from students in the Senate Page Program. 

Comptroller Elise Nieshalla met with local leaders as she visits counties around the state.

Senator Mike Braun shared his A+ pro-life score card from SBA Pro-Life America.

Senator Todd Young shared his thoughts on biotechnology and the importance it will have on the U.S. 

Congressman Rudy Yakym celebrated the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with Community Missionary Baptist Church in Elkhart.

Congressman Jim Banks visited with students and parents from St. Patrick Catholic School.

Congressman Jim Baird met with border patrol agents at the U.S. southern border.

Congresswoman Victoria Spartz went on Newsweek.

Congressman Greg Pence shared his A+ pro-life score card from SBA Pro-Life America.

Congressman Larry Bucshon visited with a delegation of Japanese Diet Members to discuss security, trade, and geopolitics.
