Oklahoma,

The American people should not have to suffer because Chuck Schumer refuses to do his job. This week, Congress voted to successfully avoid a partial government shutdown. However, we cannot continue to govern by continuing resolution. Congress must fix the process by cutting reckless spending and returning to responsible governance in Washington. Today, thousands of pro-life Americans are gathering in Washington for the 2024 March for Life event, championing the beauty of life from conception, was a powerful reminder of the work we still have ahead. This year's theme, "Pro-Life: With Every Woman, For Every Child," resonated deeply as we stand  in support of mothers and babies across the nation. As the father of six, three of whom came into our lives through the blessing of adoption, the fight for life is a personal one. Watch my message to pro-life marchers here

In honor of the event, I’ve joined with Senator Hyde-Smith to introduce two pieces of legislation to support and protect pregnancy centers and maternity homes, including a proposal to create the first-ever federal tax credit to spur greater private sector donations for these centers. This week, I had a productive meeting with Stillwater Mayor, Will Joyce, and visited with leaders from the Oklahoma National Guard. It's a privilege to engage with local officials and military leaders to discuss how we can best work together to serve Oklahomans. It was especially meaningful to speak with the National Guard leadership this week after having the opportunity to visit our National Guard troops deployed to the Horn of Africa last summer.

Exciting news for Oklahoma! Stardust Power Inc's selection of Southside Industrial Park in Muskogee for a new battery-grade lithium refinery marks a billion-dollar investment. This move will not only create high-paying jobs but also contribute to Oklahoma's standing in critical mineral manufacturing. Oklahoma is open for business.

I recently appeared on Fox Business with Liz MacDonald to address the necessity of border security. The discussion focused on the alarming number of illegal crossings and the need for decisive action. I emphasized the right of states like Texas to secure their borders when federal measures fall short. Check it out here.

I also joined Fox Business' The Bottom Line to discuss United States' and Britain's response to the Houthi rebels in Yemen. While the recent U.S. strikes were a step in the right direction, the delayed and insufficient response from the Biden administration leaves much to be desired. It's crucial that our actions send a strong message to those who threaten our interests. Watch this here.

The urgency of border reform cannot be overstated, and it's time we take meaningful steps forward. Watch the Weekly Wrap up here.
