This morning, my mother and I video-called into MSNBC to talk about how COVID-19 is threatening working-class folks across the country. Our story speaks to many people’s stories -- maybe it’s your story, too.
This is important: Did you get a chance to tune in? My team has the 2-minute video ready for you here:
My mother lost her job because of COVID-19. She had only been earning $14 an hour. When she told me the news, she asked me how she’s going to survive.
That’s what most politicians don’t understand: this is a question of survival. We need representatives who understand the life-or-death situations that working-class folks grapple with every day, NOT politicians who capitalize on this crisis and profit off American deaths.
Working-class folks are going to be hurt badly by this crisis, both health-wise and economically. We need a Congress that looks out for us. Please, will you watch me and my mother share our experiences on MSNBC? It would mean a lot to me.
I’m with you,
Nabilah
