Big Pharma companies like Pfizer and Sanofi recently announced plans to
jack up the prices of over 500 prescription drugs. The most ridiculous
part: these corporations are raising prices in direct retaliation to
Medicare negotiating lower prices on just 10 medications.

Big Pharma is predictably punching back so they keep raking in tens of
billions a year by overcharging us for life-saving medications.

That’s why anything short of Medicare for All won’t work. Health insurance
companies, Big Pharma, and hospital conglomerates will find ways to profit
unless Bernie’s universal, guaranteed, free at the point of service M4A
legislation is enacted.

Healthcare in America should be about health, not massive corporate
profits. Not only are we being ripped off, with millions bankrupted, but
people’s lives are being put at risk for pharma execs to buy another
yacht. It’s sick.

Healthcare is a human right, not something that should be denied to people
without the money to afford medication, a doctor visit, surgery,
chemotherapy, mental health treatment, or any other kind of care.

It was a big deal that our movement successfully pushed Congress to crack
the door open on drug price negotiation, but it wasn’t enough.

Recently on Capitol Hill, Rep. Ro Khanna directly called out Johnson &
Johnson for charging $160,000 per year for a Leukemia drug while it sues
the government over Medicare negotiating lower prices on just 10 drugs.
The gross profits of Johnson & Johnson in 2023 was $65 billion — and
corporate execs are still pulling out all the stops to protect their blood
money. It is beyond shameful what these Big Pharma companies are doing —
and getting away with.

Bernie’s Medicare for All bill is the answer to ensuring everyone has the
health care they need. It’s the answer to the greed-driven insurance and
pharma companies who care about profits more than patients.
