Families USA is excited to share our latest report, Meeting Consumers Deepest Health Care needs: A Call for True Payment Reform.

As you are all aware, consumers across the United States are grappling with a health care system that is failing to meet their needs. Health care is expensive, inaccessible, and often low-quality, resulting in poorer health and health outcomes.

Currently, large health care corporations are buying up community doctor's offices and creating medical monopolies. They are setting high prices that only rise year after year and generating high volumes of high-priced services with little accountability to the health or financial cost to consumers. In other words, the system is serving big health care corporations and not people.

This report shows that through true health care payment reform, policy makers have an opportunity to transform our health care system into one that reins in out-of-control health care spending and helps consumers become their healthiest selves. It demonstrates ways consumers are impacted by our current system while calling on policy makers to enact necessary changes. It also highlights solutions already underway to reorient our health care system to prioritize people's health rather than corporate greed.
