Hello comrades, here's what's happening this weekend —
General Meeting: This Saturday, January 20th at 12pm (same old time) join our monthly chapter-wide General Membership meeting, where we’ll hear updates on organizing efforts, take up formal business, and make collective decisions about the political work we are doing. This month we'll be debating the endorsement of six chapter members as candidates to DSCC, voting on recommending other DSA members across Louisiana for DSCC/DPEC, and more.
These meetings are open to all, so please feel free to join us. This month’s meeting will be at Parish Hall (2533 Columbus St) from 12 - 2pm. If you’re unable to attend in person, please register via Zoom here. If you are unable to attend in person or remotely, please request a proxy by emailing [email protected].
Before the General Meeting — Support Starbucks workers! The Starbucks workers at 1001 Elysian Fields will be hosting a sip-in to support workers unionizing Saturday, January 20th from 10am - 1pm. Get a beverage, tip well, and support workers before the GM!
After the General Meeting - Chewbacchus / Baked goodies : Our comrades in the Political Education Working Group will be distributing baked goods along the parade route for Chewbacchus, which rolls this Saturday, January 20th at 7pm. Check out the #poli-ed-working-group Slack channel for location information.
