Dear Friends,

This week, the House of Representatives voted to advance a short-term government funding extension. This extension fails to address the escalating crisis at our southern border, where illegal crossings continue to grow and threaten our national security. Congress cannot continue kicking the can down the road. We must take real action right now.

I categorically rejected the last spending bill and will reject any future bills that neglect our urgent need for border security and fiscal restraint. Republicans were elected to halt Democrats' reckless spending and Biden's disastrous policies, not to enable them.

The proposed spending spree – a staggering $1.659 trillion – blatantly disregards our promised spending caps and GOP priorities. I will continue to demand stringent budget cuts and absolute border security. Anything less is unacceptable and a clear violation of our commitment to the American people.

Sincerely,

Impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas

This week, House Republicans moved forward with the impeachment of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. The impeachment hearings have shed light on the devastating consequences of the administration's failure to secure the border.

Under the current administration, our nation has experienced record illegal immigration, surging human trafficking, and countless deaths due to fentanyl-laced drugs streaming into American communities.

Secretary Mayorkas has forsaken his duty to the Constitution and the American people. I will continue fighting for his removal and impeachment as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

Ending Slush Fund Settlements: Protecting the Public Purse From Partisan Abuses

Last week Congress passed my bill, the Stop Settlement Slush Funds Act. This legislation will close a loophole allowing settlement funds to be diverted toward partisan programs. My bill will ensure corporations who violate the law pay restitution to the American taxpayer or the individuals they harmed.

I wrote about the importance of this legislation in the American Conservative. You can read my full op-ed here.
