Hi folks,

Earlier this month, former president Trump stood at a campaign rally and commented on a recent school shooting in Iowa that took the life of a sixth grader and wounded several others.

He said, “It’s horrible, but we have to get over it.”

Get over it? No. We need to end it.

I’m a mother of four school-age kids. Parents won’t simply “get over” school shootings. Families of gun violence victims who were shot at the supermarket, at the movie theater, at their place of worship, at the hospital — they demand more than thoughts and prayers. They demand action.

But instead of doing the right thing, the Republican House majority has blocked every single bill that would enact strong, commonsense gun safety protections. They’ve chosen to cave to the gun lobby instead of protecting families and children in their own communities.

As a Navy veteran and a mother of four, I know that weapons of war have no place in our schools or our streets. It’s why I’m going to keep fighting for basic measures like universal background checks and an assault weapons ban — but I can’t do it alone.

So please, chip in $10 to keep up my fight for commonsense gun safety reform and power our efforts to retake the House majority from NRA-backed Republicans. Our communities can’t wait a second longer for action.
