They know I can’t be bought
Hey John—it's Summer!
You know, ever since I became the first Black woman elected to Congress from Pennsylvania, I've noticed it seems like a lot of folks are really uncomfortable with that. And I have to ask myself, why is that?
As you know, I’ve always stood up for what’s right, for our community, for the hardworking people who just want a fair shot. And that's made some people nervous. So nervous, in fact, that now I’ve got two new opponents in the Democratic party who are being funded by Republican donors. Think about that for a second. Why would Republicans fund Democrats unless they think these folks won’t stand strong for you like I have?
They know I can’t be bought. They know I won’t back down. They know I stand for the people. Those three things terrify them, because they signal a shift in the balance of power – a shift towards real, people-powered politics. This is a movement that can't be stopped by big money or political games. It's about your voice, your rights, and our collective future!
It's clear we're doing something right, something powerful enough to shake the status quo. But to keep this momentum, I need your help. Now, y’all know I hate asking for money, but can you chip in $10, $25, or whatever you can today so we can win this race in April and show them what we’re all about?
As you may have heard, there's a plan to spend $100 million dollars against me and others in our movement. Yep, you heard that right – **$100 million!** While they're pooling their resources, trying to drown out our voices with their deep pockets, we're over here fighting the good fight with what we've got.
But the truth is, we rely on grassroots donations – that's people like you, chipping in what they can, when they can. We don't take money from lobbyists or corporate PACs trying to buy our vote. That's just not who we are.
So, here's where I need your help. Can you chip in any amount today to help us get ahead? Every dollar you contribute goes directly to fighting for our values, for our community, and for a Congress that actually represents the people.

Thank you for standing with me. Together, we're proving that people power beats big money every single time. Let’s keep this momentum going!
In solidarity,
Summer Lee
