1) Two-Thirds of America’s Elites Want to Ban Gas Cars and Gas Stoves; Half Think There Is too Much Freedom in America; And 80% Are for Biden
We just published a study entitled “Them Vs. U.S.” ([link removed]) examining how America’s cultural elites (defined as at least one postgraduate degree, $150,000+ annual income, high-density urban residence, and Ivy Leaguer) are hopelessly out of touch with ordinary Americans. Pollster Scott Rasmussen did the research and the results were featured in a great column by Kim Strassel in today's WSJ:

Here are some of the key jaw-dropping revelations from the survey:
* Financial Well-being: Nearly three-quarters of the elites surveyed, 74%, believe they are better off now financially than they were when Joe Biden entered the White House. Only 20% of ordinary Americans feel the same way.

* Individual Freedom: Elites are three times more likely than all Americans to say there is too much individual freedom in the country.

* Climate Change: An astonishing 72% of the Elites – including 81% of the Elites who graduated from the top universities – favor banning gas cars. And majorities of elites would ban gas stoves, non-essential air travel, SUVs, and private air conditioning. That means no air travel with the kids to Disney World.

Oh, and about three-quarters of these cultural elites are Biden supporters. Surprised?

“Natural gas is critical and essential to back up wind and solar,” said Thomas J. Pyle, president of the Institute for Energy Research, a research group that supports fossil fuels. “If it’s not going to be coal, people have to look at other sources of always-on, always-available electricity.”

3) The Empire Strikes Back: The Education Mob Launches Campaign Against “Vouchers”
Given that we swept through the states in 2023 with nearly a dozen major school choice victories, we’re not the least surprised that the evil empire of Teachers Unions and deep-pocketed leftist funders are amassing a war chest to fund a smear campaign against school choice.

You won't believe this, but they are saying scholarships to help poor kids get out of failing public schools are... racist. And – you’ll love this – a “threat to democracy.”

We love the line that “public education guarantees students and families certain rights and protections.”

Wait. We’re confused. Doesn’t every child have a “right” to a high-quality (or even a half-decent) education?

4) Milei to World Economic Forum: All You Have to Lose Is Your Chains (And Your Socialist Ideology)
Argentina's President, Javier Milei, went into the lion’s den of the World Economic Forum to warn that the socialism globalists now almost universally espouse could impoverish the world.

"The West is in danger because those who are supposed to defend Western values find themselves co-opted by a worldview that—inexorably—leads to socialism, consequently to poverty," Milei his audience in Davos.

In a 23-minute keynote, Milei gave an unapologetic defense of pro-growth policies and free market ideals. His fiery conclusion is worth reading:

Today, states don't need to directly control the means of production to control every aspect of the lives of individuals, with tools such printing money, debt, subsidies, controlling the interest rate, price controls, and regulations to correct so-called market failures. They can control the lives and fates of millions of individuals...

I would like to leave a message for all businesspeople here and for those who are not here in person but are following from around the world. Do not be intimidated, either by the political caste or by parasites who live off the state. Do not surrender to a political class that only wants to stay in power and retain its privileges.

You are social benefactors. You are heroes. You're the creators of the most extraordinary period of prosperity we've ever seen. Let no one tell you that your ambition is immoral. If you make money, it's because you offer a better product at a better price, thereby contributing to general well-being.

Do not surrender to the advance of the state. The state is not the solution. The state is the problem itself. You are the true protagonists of this story and rest assured that as from today, Argentina is your staunch, unconditional ally.

Long live freedom, damn it!
