By now, you are aware of the COVID-19 global pandemic and the importance of social distancing to flatten the curve of people infected. As of this writing, there are 137 confirmed cases in North Carolina. 

Limiting the spread of coronavirus will require everyone to pitch in and do their part. There are a number of things YOU can do to take care of our community:

Check on friends and family

Some people will experience social isolation during this pandemic. Reach out to them and let them know you care. Social distancing may be challenging, but it also affords the chance to connect with loved ones.

If you are the caregiver for a relative or friend, try to keep yourself healthy, for your sake and their health. Click here for CDC guidelines on taking care of someone at home. 

Volunteer

If you can volunteer safely, please try and do so. The need is great.

There are several charities in the 13th District on the frontlines of responding to COVID-19 who need volunteers. If you know of other charities besides those listed here, hit REPLY and let us know!

Help Small Business

Small businesses will bear the brunt of this challenging period. Local and family-owned businesses are a part of the fabric of our community and will need our help to weather this pandemic. Find one of your favorite local restaurants in the Triad offering take-out, delivery, or curbide service.

For small business owners, the Small Business Administration is offering assistance to overcome the temporary loss of revenue.
