(Jefferson City, MO) - Yesterday, Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft and ten other Secretaries of State filed an amicus brief to the Supreme Court in Trump v. Anderson arguing Colorado and Maine should not be allowed to remove former President Donald J. Trump from their states’ ballots. “The actions of Colorado and Maine set a dangerous precedent, which, if allowed to stand, would likely trigger other states, red and blue, to follow suit,” said Ashcroft. “This is a threat to our democracy, preventing the voters from choosing their elected leaders, and should not be allowed to stand. We urge the Court to quickly step in and put a stop to this." Read the brief here. |
