Good afternoon. It’s Jen, Joe Biden’s new Campaign Manager. I’m glad to introduce myself!

Folks who know anything about me know that I always give it to you straight. So I’m going to level with you in this email, and carefully explain why I’m asking that you chip in $5 to help elect Joe Biden as our next president.

I’ve been a part of every Presidential campaign for the last 20 years, but I’ve never seen anything like this. The truth is, running a national campaign during the COVID-19 outbreak is a great challenge. There are no campaign rallies, no in-person fundraisers, and no organizers out knocking on doors.

But in this crisis, one thing is clear to me: we need Joe Biden now more than ever. We can bring strong, compassionate leadership back to the White House. We can build on the progress that Joe helped deliver in the Obama administration. But we can only do that if you and I do everything we can in the next eight months to make it a reality. Every day before I go to bed, I ask myself, “did I do all that I could today to move Vice President Biden one step closer to winning in November?”

Which is why we need to keep campaigning and why we need to keep fundraising. Yes, things are incredibly scary right now, and it would be easier to throw our hands up and wait until the storm passes and we’re out of unchartered waters -- but we don't have the luxury to hold back, not now.

We have to keep moving forward every single day in order to ensure that Donald Trump no longer has the power to harm this great country. We owe that to our children and to our grandchildren.

Grassroots donors have powered this campaign every step of the way. When the media wrote Joe off, you stood with him. When pundits said Iowa was the end, you put the campaign on your backs. Now it's time for our campaign, a campaign for people who have been written off and left behind, to grow. And we have to grow fast. We've got to build the infrastructure we need to take on Donald Trump -- and we don't have much time.
