Dear John,

We’re in Washington, D.C., today for the March for Life but I had to take a few minutes to you tell you about a big new threat that’s reshaping the landscape in the fight against abortion—and to ask for your help to combat it.

Many on the Left are merging their fight for abortion with their radical support for gender transitions on minors.

It’s an evil pairing with potential for devastating results, and it’s picking up steam. In the last few months, several states passed new laws that give sweeping protections to abortion and to gender transitions on minors. Here’s what these laws are doing:

* Locking in abortion-on-demand and unrestricted transgender drugs and surgeries for minors

* Giving special “safe-haven” protections to minors seeking to get around their home state’s laws that protect unborn babies or ban dangerous gender transitions for children

* Granting legal protections to doctors who face penalties in other states for violating bans on abortion or gender transitions for minors

So why is the Left combining these issues? There are three reasons, and at least one of them might surprise you:

1) Philosophical fit: Both issues are in the wheelhouse of a progressive agenda that exalts individual autonomy and rejects God’s design for life and the two sexes.

2) They’re threatened: By the gains that you and I are making: 20 states (and counting) have passed Family Policy Alliance’s Help Not Harm bill to protect kids from gender transitions, and nearly half of the states have now banned most abortions.

3) Profit motive: It’s shocking news to some that the leading abortion company in America is also the leader on gender transitions for minors.

That’s right. Planned Parenthood, which commits more than 300,000 abortions each year, has a new cash cow—selling puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to adolescents. And this cash cow lets them target boys, too.

So, with both of their profit centers under threat, Planned Parenthood and their allies have rallied the Left to pass legislation to safeguard their profit margins in as many states as possible.

But thankfully, there’s a catch—a strategic flaw that I believe we can use to help protect both innocent babies and young people struggling with their God-given identity.

So-called “sex-change” surgeries and drugs for minors are increasingly controversial, even in blue states. For example, a recent poll found that only 35 percent of Californians support allowing transgender drugs and surgeries for minors. Only 35 percent—in California!

That means that there is a real opportunity for you and me to fight back against Planned Parenthood and their destructive legislative scheme.
