Wyoming Game and Fish Department reflects on the top stories of 2023

Early estimates from Wyoming?s 2023 sage grouse wings indicate increased sage grouse reproduction. *Wings from harvested chick and hen sage grouse are collected from hunters ? primarily in central and southwest Wyoming ? who voluntarily contribute wings by dropping them off at designated collection points during the hunting season.* [ [link removed] ]

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is proud to recognize two long time wildlife biologists who retired at the end of 2023.* Worland Wildlife Biologist Bart Kroger brought his valuable 35-year career with Game and Fish to a close, [ [link removed] ]* and *Sinclair/Rawlins Wildlife Biologist Greg Hiatt retired after an impressive 46 years of dedicated service with Game and Fish. This year marked the completion of several significant projects to improve highway safety for humans and wildlife, like the Dry Piney wildlife crossing completed in October.?Meanwhile, work to remove obstacles for wildlife is continually ongoing for the wildlife professionals at Game and Fish. *One smaller-scale project was tackled for a one-mile stretch of fence along U.S. Highway 789.* [ [link removed] ]
