Staying at home with my dog? That’s my happy place.

But doing it while refreshing a scary map showing growing red concentric circles of a contagion? Being afraid that leaving my apartment means putting my neighbor — who’s at an elevated risk thanks to a pre-existing respiratory condition — in serious danger? That’s anxiety-inducing in a way I’ve never experienced before.

But we’ve also witnessed communities coming together in unprecedented ways: Entire countries putting on concerts together through balconies and open windows. People handing the last item in their grocery cart to an elderly neighbor in the store instead of taking it home. The world is isolated — but at the same time, we’re all in this together.

So we turned to you to figure out what comes next — asking what you wanted and needed from EDF in this extraordinary time. And you delivered. Here’s what you said you’d like to see:

The message is clear: We should be prioritizing our messaging to you on the importance of science during crises like these, opportunities for you to raise your voice & speak out, and updates on the progress we’re still making.

During an unprecedented pandemic, the EPA is trying to rush through an ill-conceived and dangerous proposal to censor the science that guides public health protections and keeps Americans safe.

They are advancing this attack when the news is focused on a crisis, and giving the American public and top public health experts who are currently focused on other problems only 30 days to weigh in.

I know we can win this fight to halt this attack. Because we stand together, even while we’re at least 6 feet apart. When the Trump administration launched a barrage of attacks to take down every protection that EDF spent the last 50 years building, I counted on you to step up and fight back. I counted on you to take to the streets in protest, raise your voice in phone calls, and make sure your friends and family members join us in this fight.
