Dear John,

When Pauline Hanson raises the disdain for Australia Day shown by ‘Wokeworths’ (Woolworths), the real story is Australians’ distrust for everything Woolworths stands for.

As reported in the media this week, dirty tactics used by Australia’s supermarket giants – including threats and unreasonable rule changes – to punish desperate farmers have been exposed, leaving cash-strapped growers “too afraid to speak up” and “in fear for their futures”.

Sticking their nose into woke politics is how these corporations distract from the way they are gouging consumers and destroying our farmers.

Screwing farmers over has a direct consequence. The supermarket chains then use that profit and buying power to jack prices up and bleed more from consumers. Predatory practises are directly affecting the price of produce at the checkout.

Vicious woke warriors will say Woolworth’s ‘200,000’ workers deserve protection from boycott calls. Certainly, the day-to-day shop floor workers don’t deserve abuse, however One Nation has long maintained that the major supermarkets, including Aldi and Wokeworths, have unfairly taken advantage of Australia’s primary producers in an un-Australian manner for far too long.

One Nation has consistently and successfully argued for a code of conduct framework for the dairy and sugar industries, and has always worked for a fair go for our world-class farming sector.

It’s time to revise our supermarket code of conduct, as it is obviously not fit for purpose. The first sentence of such a code of conduct should be a reminder to these businesses they operate in Australia, a country where people are full of pride in our culture, our flag and national holiday.

This is the year when Australians fight back. We will reclaim our country and bring common sense to government.

MAJOR UPDATE: Our Australia Day merchandise sales have just gone through the roof. This week we put the call out for locals to our Brisbane HQ to help with our huge increase in orders for January 26th. Dozens of people answered the call and filled our warehouse, busily packing those orders.

Senator Hanson, her MPs, and all of the team at One Nation HQ are so grateful for the volunteers that answered this call. It was really heartwarming, and we have enjoyed the banter and friendships that we've enjoyed this week.

We are still getting through our Australia Day orders, and will be doing more over the weekend. Our hope is that every Australian can enjoy Australian merchandise and the joy that this significant national holiday brings us all.

We have some new shirts in our store. It's great fun presenting these new designs and seeing how excited everyone is. A massive thank you to Maurice, one of our supporters, who came up with the idea behind these new designs.
