Some thoughts on the path forward.

Hi John,
Over the past week, we've held a couple of digital chats to connect, share information and talk about what's next.
We've made calls to our neighbors, offering a reassuring voice and to help with things like grocery runs.
Our AZ-06 community is strong. We're overwhelmed and concerned, but we've seen kindness all around us -- from the grocery store worker I chatted with this morning who is working longer hours without complaint to the small businesses that are changing the way they serve customers and doing everything they can to save jobs.
Over the past week, I've been vocal about urging our governor to take more serious action to #StoptheSpread. I'm glad to see the executive actions that were announced yesterday. If you have questions, here is a summary.
At the federal level, economic aid packages are starting to move forward. We'll continue to watch as we push for money directly into the hands of people, not corporate bailouts with no restrictions.
We're also watching the news about alleged insider trading, stock sell-offs by those who could have done more to protect us instead of just protecting their pockets.
We must learn from our history rather than continue to repeat it. When we get through this, and we will, I promise you I will fight:
- To protect our important social safety nets.
- To ensure every American has health care.
- For common-sense policies that recognize how we work has changed -- we can't allow corporations to profit from a benefit-deficient workforce.
- For legislation that prohibits lawmakers from owning individual stocks and mandates a blind trust for other assets that could be conflicts of interest.
For
that last point, see my full democracy pledge and plan here.
We'll fight this crisis together.
Our team is ready to help however we can. Don't hesitate to reach out to us for anything you need.
Stay calm, be kind, and together, we'll weather this.
Best, Anita
