Moments ago, the House Budget Committee, led by Republican Jodey Arrington, just advanced the Fiscal Commission Act of 2023 out of its committee.

I was there―and I brought over 500,000 petition signatures from Social Security Works with me. Every single signature was in opposition to the fiscal commission. For elevating your voices, I was arrested.

The White House has rightfully referred to the commission as a "death panel for Medicare and Social Security." It is indisputable that Social Security doesn’t add a penny to the deficit. But Republicans like Jodey Arrington and MAGA Mike Johnson would rather cut benefits for working people than ask their donors to pay a penny more.
