Gov. Weld on MSNBC

Friend --

Bill doesn’t mince his words. So you know when he told Chris Matthews last night that “Donald Trump has blood on his hands,” he meant what he said.

And it’s true. You can draw a direct line from the manifesto of the El Paso shooter to the Trump handbook. Trump has used his platform -- first as a failed businessman flirting with politics and now as president -- for racist tirades.

Even worse, Trump has continued to spew his hate fueled rhetoric on TV and Twitter in the wake of multiple horrific shootings across the country, instead of using this moment to unify us.

When will we stop accepting the unacceptable from this president?

Our country, and our party, is at an inflection point — we can either continue down the road that has led to more mass shootings, more hate crimes, and has left us less safe, or we can blaze a new direction. One that is guided by unity, by civility, and by reality.

Will you join us in blazing a new path for America?
