John, like many proud Minnesotans, I was disheartened when the DFL-backed commission went forward with replacing our historic state flag. Our flag represents our rich history. Adopted in 1893, it was influenced by various flags used by Minnesota's infantry regiments during the Civil War. It’s an eternal part of our state’s history and no commission can ever erase that. John, we can and should celebrate our history and now we can own a little piece of it too. |
