Friend,
This month I returned to Sacramento to begin the new legislative year where I’m continuing to fight for the issues important to friends and neighbors across our district. Issues like gun violence prevention, making healthcare more affordable, behavioral health, environmental protection, and improving our public schools are key priorities.
I’m going to continue working on issues the same way I always have: collaborating with colleagues and advocates to get things done. There is no problem too big to take on if we work together with thoughtfulness, compassion, and respect for each other.
It’s the honor of a lifetime to represent more than a million of my fellow Californians in Sacramento. Working together, we’ve gotten a lot done — from supporting workers to protecting a woman’s right to choose and building more affordable housing. I believe Washington could benefit from this same type of leadership, which is why I’m running for Congress.
Voting begins in just a few weeks. If you also believe that Washington needs more people willing to work together to get things done, can you volunteer to knock on doors in your neighborhood?
Be well,
Anthony Portantino
