Today, the House Budget Committee approved legislation to create a so-called “fiscal commission” to meet behind closed doors to plan cuts to our Social Security and Medicare benefits.
This is outrageous. Congress should be working to expand Social Security and Medicare benefits by making the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share, not paving the way for cuts.
Americans earn their Social Security and Medicare, contributing with every paycheck. We need to make sure it’s there for current retirees and future generations – not let Congress put it on a fast track to cuts.
