Lauren Underwood For Congress

John,

The latest threat in our work to reclaim reproductive freedom comes in the form of yet another abortion access lawsuit to be decided by the Supreme Court this year.

In just a matter of months, the Supreme Court will rule on federal approval of the widely prescribed abortion pill, mifepristone, in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA.

Abortion pills account for over half of all abortions in the United States. If access to mifepristone is further eroded, it will have devastating impacts on people across the country, particularly Black, brown, Indigenous, and low-income people.

The challenge to federal approval of mifepristone is just the beginning. Legal battles are playing out in lower courts — including Kentucky’s Attorney General seeking to intensify barriers to abortion — that are primed to make their way to our nation’s highest court.

As we expected with the fall of Roe, out-of-touch Republicans are turning back the clock and ripping away the freedoms we’ve worked so hard to achieve.

Despite the ongoing saga of abortion-access lawsuits, the fact remains true that our right to abortion care is paramount to justice and equality for all.

We must continue to fight for our fundamental rights. John, will you support our work to undo the harm caused by the far-right Supreme Court majority and states that have outlawed abortion?
