Social Security is the most important source of retirement income for the vast majority of Americans. For nearly half of Americans, it’s their only retirement savings.

While Republicans continue to push the Fiscal Commission Act to slash Social Security and Medicare, millions of seniors and people with disabilities face poverty.

With the average Social Security benefit totaling only $1,688 per month, we need to fight for expanded benefits that keep pace with the rising cost of living.
