John,
Today the House Budget Committee voted to advance their bill to create a fiscal commission, which would pave the way for cuts to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, and more behind closed doors.
Now the bill goes to the full House for a vote.
Together, we’ve sent more than 150,000 messages directly to members of Congress telling them that a vote for a fiscal commission is a vote to cut critical programs and services for older Americans, people with disabilities, and low-income people and families.
In his first address as Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson said that enacting a fiscal commission was a top priority. We’re fighting back!
Rush a donation today to power our lobbying efforts to defeat the fiscal commission before it’s created.

Any approach to addressing our nation’s debt must ensure the rich and corporations are paying their fair share in taxes. We should not be ripping critical services away from vulnerable people and communities. The House commission bill would set up a fast-track to dangerous cuts that will set our nation back.
We’ve defeated these attacks on human needs programs before and we must do so again now.
Donate today to fight back against backdoor cuts to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, and more!
