Last weekend a group of brave volunteers came out to canvass with me in Nevada City. Undeterred by several inches of snow, we bundled up and tramped through slushy streets to speak with neighbors.
I met a midwife who wanted me to help protect women’s reproductive rights. I met a sous chef at a sushi restaurant who wanted me to fight for more affordable housing. And I met a young girl who asked me to help fight for better access and accommodations for her younger sister who is in a wheelchair.
I’m so grateful for everyone who turned out throughout the district to knock on doors despite the cold. This week, even more folks are braving the weather to talk with our community about this campaign.
