NIJ seeks applications for funding for rigorous research and evaluation projects in four topical areas:
- Evaluation of programs that seek to prevent, intervene in, or respond to the abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of older adults.
- Evaluation of prevention and education programs related to financial fraud and exploitation of older adults, including the efficacy of scam prevention messaging campaigns.
- Research on individuals who abuse, either financially, physically, sexually, and/or emotionally, or neglect older adults.
- Forensic research involving the development of radiographic evidence and bioinformatic approaches relevant to the physical abuse of older adults.
Application Instructions
Applications will be submitted in a two-step process, each step with its own deadline:

Submit an SF-424 and an SF-LLL in Grants.gov.
Grants.gov Deadline: April 1, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET

Submit the full application, including attachments, in JustGrants.
JustGrants Deadline: April 15, 2024 at 8:59 p.m. ET

Financial Management and System of Internal Controls Questionnaire, including applicant disclosure of high-risk status (in JustGrants)

Curriculum Vitae/Resumes for Key Personnel (Principal investigator, and any and all co-principal investigators)
