John,
This month, Bridge Detroit reported on another in a long line of environmental injustices in Michigan’s history.
In short, Stellantis has been emitting more pollution from its automotive assembly plant than is legally allowed.
The people of East Detroit are feeling the effects. Volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, can cause serious health issues to those exposed.
Now activists and lawmakers in Detroit are fighting to be compensated for the damage that’s been caused by corporate greed. I stand with them.
Will you sign on to hold polluters accountable and show support for activists who are fighting for environmental justice?
This isn’t just a Michigan problem. On a national level, we are not doing enough to hold corporations accountable for their outsized impact on worsening climate change.
In the Senate, I will be a staunch advocate for holding polluters accountable and taking meaningful action toward ensuring clean air and water for everyone. And when companies are fined for polluting, I will fight to ensure that that money goes back into the communities that were harmed.
If you agree, sign my petition to show your support.
