Dear John,

This is not a coronavirus map. This is a map ‘40 Days for Life’ is using to promote anti-abortion mass gatherings in 508 cities through April 5, 2020:

It’s time to shut this public health emergency down. Sign our petition to demand 40 Days for Life formally cancel its global anti-abortion harassment campaign.

Anti-abortion harassment never has been and never will be okay. Shaming and threatening abortion patients, providers, and the communities clogs up our sidewalks with bullying and hate speech, and inspires anti-abortion terrorists to escalate violence.

This year, the threat is especially urgent. In direct contradiction of bipartisan governors who have taken leadership to ban public gatherings and urge people to stay home to reduce the spread of the fatal coronavirus pandemic, just yesterday 40 Days for Life tweeted:

“The word “quarantine” means “forty days” in Latin … If you are able, go to your nearest vigil and help save lives!” [1]

40 Days for Life is encouraging the spread of the deadly coronavirus. Sign our petition now to demand they immediately suspend this campaign in all locations around the world.

Cordially,

Erin Matson
Co-Director, Reproaction

P.S. No matter how we feel about abortion, we are all in this together as far as stopping coronavirus is concerned. Demand 40 Days for Life suspend its campaign now.
