Hi friend,

I’ve always been fascinated with how storms build. It’s not a linear process, but rather an exponential one. Water vapor in the air condenses around particles, like dust, to build a cloud. And the more water there is, the bigger the cloud grows. The toughest part is the beginning. The conditions have to be just right.

I have found over the past three years (wow, three years!) that building a campaign is a similar process. This started as me having an idea in my basement, and essentially, I was the first water droplet of our campaign. The next droplets were my friends and family, and their support has driven me during the long hours of work. And the next batch of droplets were supporters from across Illinois and the country, individuals passionate about bringing more science to Congress. Now here we are, just two months to our primary Election Day, and what was once a few water droplets has grown into a full-fledged storm!

Friend, as we get halfway through our first filing deadline of the year, we have our biggest opportunity to publicly demonstrate our storm’s strength. Every dollar builds our storm larger, and any amount is greatly appreciated (and supplies the water droplets we need!)

The Republicans think we’re just a few droplets, so let’s show them that there’s a big storm moving in, and they’re about to get caught without their umbrella! You can contribute online here: secure.actblue.com/donate/es-q1-2024
