In the 2023 election cycle, abortion was on the ballot across the country, John.

Not even a year ago, in February 2023, Allie discovered during her 19th week of pregnancy that the fetus was not compatible with life. As a resident of Tennessee, her only option was to go out of state for an abortion, which cost her over $2,000.

Allie, a 28 year old, bravely went public and documented this injustice on TikTok. After the procedure, she felt devastated and enraged. She knew that her representative, who is in his first term representing a new state House district in north Tennessee, had run unopposed in 2022.

Allie is now taking him on in a tough district where Trump won 2020, but now, we know the issue that can cut through to voters: abortion. That’s it. Abortion.

Seriously. Last year in Ohio, counties that went for Trump, like Butler County, flipped and voted to restore reproductive freedoms. In Virginia, voters also delivered a resounding victory for abortion advocates— it was a nationwide sweep, and it included red states and purple states.
