John, can you believe it’s been a year since Aruna and I were sworn in to serve the people of Maryland?

It was a moment in time that will stay with me forever. It was a moment that symbolized the historic milestones we will accomplish together.

Reflecting on the time that has passed since then, I am proud of the work we’ve been able to do in the last year. From protecting abortion rights to passing historic gun safety legislation to increasing opportunity, my first year in office has been eventful.

As I embark on the second year, one thing is on my mind: making Maryland the best place to call home for all of us. We all share this place and it’s a place I know each one of us cares about deeply. This is a place with endless potential if we all collectively work towards that future.

Aruna and I are honored to serve. We’re working hard to deliver on the promises we made and create a state that leaves no one behind. This will be Maryland’s decade.
