John –

As the worst of winter takes hold (bitter cold... fierce winds... snow), we are running out of time to reach children and families in crisis zones like Ukraine with badly needed humanitarian aid.

Right now, mothers living in homes damaged by ongoing, heavy shelling have no way to keep their children warm as temperatures drop below freezing.

January is one of the coldest months in Ukraine, and this winter is no exception with temperatures rapidly plummeting. Can you help? >>

Just days ago, my colleague Joanna reached out to ask you to consider beginning a monthly gift to support children and families, like those in Ukraine, and wherever and whenever a crisis strikes. I wanted to reach out one last time before tonight’s deadline — we really need your help to reach 100 new monthly donors by midnight tonight.

I hope you’ll read Joanna’s note below, and then begin a monthly gift to support children and families in crisis, year-round — if you begin your support by midnight tonight, your first gift will be MATCHED, doubling your immediate impact.

URGENT - Intense shelling has recently hit Ukraine again. This is happening as the worst of winter and bitter temperatures take hold.

Homes and critical infrastructure have been seriously damaged, leaving children and families without protection from the kind of cold that stings your face, hands, and feet.

As temperatures plummet, people are struggling to stay safe and warm. The IRC is scaling up our humanitarian response to reach more people with warm blankets, heaters, fuel and financial assistance to help families recover from these latest attacks and make it through these harsh winter months.

John, your support is what allows us to aid children and families in crisis year-round. We are committed to helping people whose lives have been shattered by conflict and disaster in crisis zones around the world. But with so many crises unfolding worldwide, the truth is that we need more resources to respond to new emergencies while continuously maintaining our important work around the globe.

We're hoping to sign up 100 new monthly donors by January 18 to help us send urgently needed resources where they are needed most. Can you begin a monthly gift to help us reach families in crisis zones like Ukraine, this winter and year-round? Your first gift will be MATCHED, doubling your immediate impact for children and families in need. Together, we will be there, no matter what.

This is Vira. She’s been living on the frontlines of the war in Ukraine since the conflict escalated. Like many Ukrainians, drones, missiles and artillery shells are a constant threat to her safety. Her home in Kherson has been severely damaged, leaving her badly exposed to Ukraine’s harsh winter and temperatures that are below freezing.

Vira recently received a gas stove from the IRC and now receives regular deliveries of fuel. She told our staff that this support is very much needed to heat her home — and to stay warm and safe this winter.
The IRC, alongside local partners, is rushing to reach more people like Vira in urgent need of heat, fuel and other survival essentials this winter.

Please begin a monthly gift to help us reach families in crisis zones like Ukraine year-round.

Every gift brings us closer to our goal.

Your ongoing generosity will mean that, no matter where or when a crisis strikes, the IRC can be there to help families survive, recover and rebuild their lives. Remember, your first gift will be MATCHED when you begin a monthly commitment today.

John, I hope you’ll consider making your monthly gift through your bank account. When you do, you reduce processing fees for the IRC and empower us to do more with your donation. All you need to do is select “BANK ACCOUNT” as your preferred method of payment when you are making your donation.

Thank you for helping us keep families warm and safe this winter.
