John -
As the news moves quickly I want to offer some key resources to stay safe, healthy and updated.

Follow state, national and global updates on the spread of the COVID-19 and read more about how to keep yourself and those around you safe:

From now on, if you see a business taking advantage of this crisis by price gouging or other unfair conduct, please report it to 503-378-8442. This is the Oregon Department of Justice's new hotline dedicated to Price Gouging and investigating other scams and frauds affecting Oregonians during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Under the governor's directive, all of Oregon's food-service businesses are limited to take-out and delivery services for the next four weeks. While this move was necessary to help slow the spread of the virus, it is putting financial stress on workers and small business owners, many of whom were already in vulnerable positions. Please consider helping struggling Oregonians by donating money or food to the Oregon Food Bank.

If you have questions about your rights for sick time, call BOLI at 971-673-0761.

If you're worried about quarantining in a home where you don't feel safe, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or text LOVEIS to 22522.

If you have mental health conditions that could be triggered during this crisis, call your county OHA Crisis Line or the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration's 24/7 Disaster Distress Helpline, reachable at 1-800-985-5990.

A few final reminders, John: Don't forget the six-feet-apart social distancing rule. It may seem awkward (it is) but it could save a life--including your own. And my personal favorite suggestion: Take the stairs if at all possible. Elevators are potentially very unhealthy places to be, even briefly.

This is a very important time to look out for one another. Thank you for doing your part. Be well and be safe!

Ellen
