Friend,

Things are kicking into high gear here at the Sierra Club as we get to work on our most urgent priorities for the year ahead:

Turbocharging the transition to clean energy. Blocking deadly, destructive oil pipelines and natural gas projects. Expanding vital protections for our national monuments and wildlife refuges.

It's all on the table – and as we face one of the most consequential elections in our nation's history this November, it's imperative that we do everything we can now to make progress towards a cleaner, healthier environmental future for all.

2023 was the hottest year in recorded history, as surging temperatures fueled devastating wildfires, hurricanes, flooding, and other extreme weather events around the globe. But even as frontline communities struggle to withstand the impacts of climate change, the fossil fuel industry and its allies in Congress are doubling down on their attempts to keep the profits flowing at any expense.

With the help of Sierra Club members and supporters like you, we're fighting back on multiple fronts by:

- Blocking and shutting down dirty energy projects – like the Dakota Access Pipeline, the Line 5 pipeline, and the CP2 liquefied natural gas facility – that threaten local communities' drinking water and contribute to the climate crisis.
- Advancing the urgently-needed transition to clean energy by empowering local activists to support implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act, pressuring major banks to pull their investments from the fossil fuel industry, and more.
- Defending culturally and ecologically significant public lands from fossil fuel development, including the fragile Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, which could face devastating consequences for generations to come if current plans for oil and gas extraction are allowed to move forward.
