Donald Trump's victory in 2016 is part of what inspired me to run for Congress. I didn't like where our country was headed. I saw my hometown being represented by someone who didn't reflect our values, and I believed I could be part of building a better future. Similarly, Ted Cruz's actions on Jan. 6, 2021, were a part of the reason I decided to run against him this year.

Texans deserve a Senator who can think for himself, not one who will blindly fall in line with Trump's MAGA agenda. And experts agree we've got a real chance to win. Since we launched this campaign, CNN has ranked Ted Cruz the most vulnerable Republican Senator in the country.

The only thing I'm worried about is resources.
