We need representatives who show up.

Folks – I’m on my way back home after an eventful week in our nation’s capital.

First, was the incredible, electrifying, 400K-strong March on Washington for Gaza last Saturday.

An animated gif featuring a black and white video clip of the March on Washington for Gaza, recorded by Jason while attending the march. Overlaying are 3 still images in color of the march, including a crowd carrying a large Palestinian flag, a selfie of Jason wearing a “Free Palestine” beanie in front of a large crowd of attendees, and a photo of marchers proceeding down the avenue towards the U.S. Capitol building.

But this march wasn’t the only reason I came to Washington this week.

My good friend Michelle, who longtime supporters know spent a good part of the last 4 years unhoused (even temporarily living with my family), is now back home in Maryland – and hi her family has an important case that went before SCOTUS this week. More on that case later.

Michelle asked me to be there for support. So I did.

Standing in front of the INjustice Building, while the arguments were being heard in Michelle’s case, my mind was on the craven people sitting on that bench, and all the misery they’ve brought down on working people.

I went to Washington this week because I was asked to be there.

I went to Washington this week because I was called to be there.

I went to Washington to show up for justice, and it’s the same reason I’m running for Congress.

Send me back to Washington D.C. this November, and I will take that fight into the heart of Congress as your representative and the first ever member of the Green Party to serve in our federal government.

Solidarity forever,

Jason
