I ran for Congress not just to have a seat at the decision-making table —
I ran to shake that table. And I knew that would make me a target.

I knew that calling for a ceasefire in Gaza to save civilian lives, return
all innocent hostages to their loved ones, and facilitate the delivery of
life-saving humanitarian aid would make me a target.

And I knew that advocating for abortion care as health care, fighting for
a criminal legal system that centers compassion over criminalization, and
speaking out against racial injustice would make me a target.

The truth is, when you speak truth to power, power fights back. Right now,
special interest groups are strategizing to put up an opponent against me,
with the hopes of silencing my voice and the collective voice of our
movement. They could pour millions of dollars in this race to fund an
opponent.

[ [link removed] ]Despite this, I’ll never stop fighting to do the right thing, no matter
the threats of special interests groups and far-right extremists. But I
can’t do this work alone. I’m counting on you to have my back and to help

I got
into this fight because I’ve seen firsthand what it’s like to have a
government that serves special interests, not the people.

That’s why I’ll keep pushing for progress, while Republicans keep trying
to rewrite history and embolden white supremacy. From banning books to
vilifying educators, their tactics are tired but harmful nonetheless.

So right now, while I’m on the radar of these extremists, I know it’s
because I’m doing something right. I know it’s because we’ve built a
people-centered movement that continues to advance legislation that
addresses the most challenging issues workers and families are facing. And
I’m committed to keep delivering progress for those who need it.
