Dear Friends,
As you may have heard, I have a new book coming out next week. The book is part memoir, part non-fiction, and part social / political commentary. It’s titled “The Making of a Generalist: An Independent Thinker Finds Unconventional Success in an Uncertain World” and is available for purchase on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, as well as other outlets.
After my unsuccessful campaign for the US Senate in 2022, I spent time reflecting on my life experiences and lessons learned. Writing (when not skiing or hiking at Loon Mountain) became my “therapy” and helped me better understand my first 50 years on this planet. The book is a deeply personal reflection on failures, challenges, and successes along the path to who I am today.
The book also takes lessons acquired from my entry into politics and puts them into the context of my prior work. My first book, Boombustology, suggested the use of multiple lenses offered a path to unique insights when it came to spotting financial bubbles. My next book, Think for Yourself, suggested every perspective was limited, biased, and incomplete and the best way to navigate uncertainty was to triangulate multiple views. When I entered the world of politics, however, I found most people were quick to label folks on a single dimension of Right to Left. The Making of a Generalist suggests we could all be better off by adding dimensions to our political discourse: what about open-minded versus closed-minded? or process-oriented versus outcome-oriented? I’m calling for more civil civic engagement.
At this point, I really need your help. While I would of course appreciate it if you could purchase a copy (Incidentally, the Kindle book is currently available for a short period of time for $2.99!), I’m also looking for assistance in getting the book noticed. I would really appreciate it if you might
Host a (virtual) book party.
(My team can assist with invitation design, setting up a virtual meeting, and setting a date. I’m of course happy to attend!)
Purchase books for your team, clients, children and/or friends.
(I have relationships with bulk book buying organizations who can send to individual addresses; they can even provide codes to give out at events if preferred.)
Mention the book on social media.
(Please consider posting something like “I’m looking forward to receiving my copy of @mansharamani’s new book, The Making of a Generalist. Can’t wait to read it!” with a link to the book’s Amazon page (https://amzn.to/48Bamxu) on X/twitter). I’m also on Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, and Threads.
Help me get the book mentioned or discussed in the media.
(I’m super passionate about getting the book’s main message — that we should all be broader when the world is getting narrower — to the widest audience possible. Any help would be appreciated!)
Suggest me as a potential speaker to discuss the book.
(Although I do a fair amount of professional keynote speaking, I’m eager to also share the message of the book with non-conference audiences, whether they are high schoolers, a retirement community book club, or mid-career networking organizations)
Please reach out to me directly at [email protected] or via my cell 603-290-9595 if you think you might able to help.
Thank you in advance for your continued support and friendship.
Best,
